Getting a quote

Eligibility turns on the vehicle rather than on you. Each programme sets its own ceiling on age and mileage, and the cut-offs differ between the reconditioned range and the local used range, so the quickest route is to send the vehicle's details and let the sales team match it against what it qualifies for.

Send the make, model, year of manufacture and current mileage, and say whether the car is a reconditioned import or a local used vehicle. If it came from a dealer already running a GMR programme, such as Carro or Sime Darby Auto Selection, mention that as well.

A panel workshop inspection is required before cover starts. GMR arranges that appointment on your behalf, so there is nothing for you to book and no workshop for you to chase.

Questions we get asked

What does an extended warranty actually do for me?

Most large repairs and breakdowns happen after a vehicle's first few years, once any original manufacturer cover has run out. An extended warranty programme continues cover on mechanical and electrical components past that point, so a failure becomes a claim rather than an unplanned repair bill.

Which parts are not covered?

Consumable and wear and tear items sit outside the cover: tyres, batteries, wiper blades, brake pads and similar. Replacing those stays with you. What is covered is listed programme by programme, and any GMR panel workshop can confirm an item against your plan before work starts.

How do I file a claim?

If the vehicle is safe to drive, take it to any GMR authorised panel workshop and have it diagnosed. The workshop submits the claim on your behalf and GMR handles the rest with them. If the vehicle is not fit to drive, have it towed to a panel workshop instead.

Do I have to pay anything up front?

No. Where the part is covered under your programme, parts and labour are covered by GMR up to that programme's maximum limit. GMR does not charge a processing fee for filing a claim and there is no excess.

Does my car need an inspection before I buy?

Yes. A GMR authorised panel workshop inspects the vehicle before the programme starts, and GMR arranges that appointment for you rather than leaving you to book it.

Where can I service the car?

At any GMR authorised panel workshop. Each programme sets its own interval and oil grade, and keeping to that schedule is what keeps the cover live.

Why choose GMR over another warranty?

GMR has been working in the Malaysian automotive trade since 2015 and designs its programmes together with RHB Insurance. Coverage is published in full programme by programme rather than held back, so you can cross-check any item with an authorised panel workshop before you buy, and the claims service is run as the part of the business that matters most.

How do I know if my vehicle is eligible?

The programmes cover different vehicle types, ages and mileages, and the cut-offs differ between the recon and local used ranges. Send the make, model, year and current mileage through the form above and the sales team will come back with the programmes the vehicle qualifies for.
